B L I N G

This tut was written on November 16, 2010.
It is written using PSPX; I'm sure the same effects are available in other versions.

SUPPLIES
A tube or an image..
I'm using the work of PinUp Toons. You need to purchase a license to use this work HERE.

The following filters:
MuRa's Meister - Copies
DSB Flux - Bright Noise

Font of choice (I'm using "AL Boogie Woogie")

Let's begin!

Open a new image, 600x250

Selections - Select All.
Selections - Modify - Select Selection Borders using Inside, 2, antialias unchecked.
Fill the selection with black.
Selections - Select None.

MuRa's Meister - Copies using the Line preset, changing the number from 8 to 15.
This will be your frame.

Add a new layer, and move it under your frame layer.

Highlight your frame layer.
With your magic wand, click in the first tall rectangle to the left.
Selections - Modify - Expand by 1.
Pick a color from your tube, and fill the selection on the layer UNDER your frame.

Repeat this step until you have SEVEN rectangles filled.

When you have seven done, highlight the frame layer at the top.

Selection Tool - Custom Selection using the following setting:

Make sure you're on the frame layer, and DELETE.

Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow using 0, 0, 100, 25, black.
Hide the frame layer for now.

Highlight the other layer, and duplicate it.

Working on the bottom of the two layers,
MuRa's Meister - Copies using the Wallpaper(rotate) preset.

Adjust - Blur - Motion Blur using 315 angle, 100 strength.
Repeat.
Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance.
Repeat.

Add your tube above this layer.
Add a blurry drop shadow (I used the same drop shadow I used earlier.)

Highlight the layers with the seven boxes filled, duplicate this layer twice (for a total of three.)
On EACH of these three layers, DSB Flux - Bright Noise using Intensity = 85, click the Mix button each time.

Unhide your frame layer.

Add your name and all necessary copyright information.

Animate as usual.

For the avatar:

Duplicate your image (Shift + D.)

Delete the tube layer.

Crop to 150x150.

Add a 2px selection border in black with the same drop shadow.

Add your initial and any necessary copyright information.

Animate as usual.

Here is another example, also using the work of Elias Chatzoudis:

Another lovely tut, Rich... I texturized my glitter and added more animation, cuz one can have too much, right?  Grin

If I can't be a good example, I'll have to serve as a dire warning!
