Make someone's day - make them a forum set!

C A U G H T

TWO tuts in one - just by changing two settings!

This tut was written on June 14, 2010.
It is written using PSPX2; I'm not sure the Background Eraser is available in other versions.

SUPPLIES
A tube and a closeup.
I'm using the work of Marco Guaglione. You need to purchase a license to use this work from MY PSP TUBES.

The following filters:

MuRa's Meister - Copies - Wallpaper Shrink
Second Set
Two Moons - Vertical Chop Blur

Font of choice (I'm using "Mea Culpa")

Let's begin!

Open a new image, 600x250.

Paste a copy of the tube to your image,
Mura Meister Wallpaper Shrink at whatever setting needed to make sure the whole image is covered.
If your just using a tube Wallpaper Rotate might work better.

Motion Blur at the following settings.  Do the Blur twice.

Edge effects enhance - twice

Apply Distortion effect Wave at the settings I supplied.

Shift D - to duplicate your tube - then close your original.
Copy as a new image your close up and re-size it to 300 pixels.
Paste your close-up and put it to the side you choose.
Apply your favorite shadow.

On this particular tube, it had a huge orange background - I suppose to simulate a sunset,
but with a forum set - it took up almost all the the forum tag.  So I used the background eraser
and carefully erased the orange ball.  Yes, it would look better if it was tubed out, but I don't
have that talent for all those trees.
Gave it a bit of my favorite drop shadow.

*Hint* On using the Background Eraser, just click on the icon I have showed in
the screen shot.  You will have an appearance of the eraser, but it doesn't erase the
main part of the tube.  If you continue erasing, instead of even strokes, it will erase
your tube (so always try this on a copied tube - NOT the original).  Also, if the
tube has small lines that you want to be visible - shrink the tip of the eraser down - go
to size and make it a 5 and make your tube larger.  See my example and settings.
Also, I just do single clicks at the edges, in the trees....this is an example and not finished.

Merged the the group of tigers down to the background and added another raster layer.
Select All,  Modify - contract - 3.  Selections - Invert - I filled with black.

I used the crop tool, at a spot I liked for the avatar and sized it to 150 X 150.
The used the grey arrow - crop as a new image.

I put the copyright information and license number on at this time.
Also put your name on with a font of your choice.

I always save my non-animated sets as a .png.

Here is another example, only I didn't do the motion blur,
just Gaussian Blur setting at 20 and Two Moons - Vertical Chop Blur
settings are below.
