This tut was written on June 3, 2010, by Beverly.
If it looks like anyone else's, that is purely by accident.
It was written using Corel Paint Shop Pro X2.
I am sure the same effects are available in other versions.

SUPPLIES

A tube and a close-up or image.
I'm using the work of Ismael Rac.
You need to make sure to purchase a license to use this tube from AMI.

Filters
Mura Meister - Copies
Neology - Blend Mosaic
Almathera - Halo

Font
I used Classic Alt Caps Bold.

Let's start with your tubes.
Copy them and close the originals, then re-size them to 300 pixels.

Open a new image, 600 X 250.

Paste your close up tube or image onto the blank forum tag.
Then apply Mura Meister Copies - wallpaper rotate.

Apply Gaussian Blur, setting 10 - then duplicate.
To the top layer apply Adjust/Blur/Radial Blur at the settings below.

Then apply Neology - Blend Mosiac - setting at 20.
Then apply effects/edge effects/ enhance (twice).
Change the blend mode on this layer to Multiply or one of your choice that looks good to you.

Paste your close up tube as a new layer and move it to the side.
Paste the regular tube as another new layer and move it to the other side.
Give each tube a bit of shadow of your choice.

Now choose a color of your choice that matches the tube, on the background.
Leave the foreground blank or shut it off.
Choose your Rectangle preset shape tool and draw a thin line.
Raster that line, then duplicate it twice.
Move the lines to where you want them, then merge the lines together.

Effects/Artistic Effects/Topography to the lines as
shown.

Go down and activate the next to the bottom layer, it should be the enhanced Mosiac Blend layer.
Apply your crop tool to the whole tag to make sure your tag has no hanging over images.
Apply Almathera/Halo - Black 15 or 20 setting, whichever looks good to you.

Apply your copyright information with your license, if appropriate.

Now to make your avatar:

First, duplicate your tag.
The easiest way to do this is hit Shift + D.

The way I usually make the avatar is to use the crop tool.
I make the settings 150 X 150.
Then I move it to where I like the looks of my avatar.

I then apply the initial or name on it with a drop of shadow.
I also then apply the name to the tag above with the same shadow.

I hope you enjoy my tut,
Beverly
