S I N E

This tut was written on January 12, 2012.
It is written using PSPX; I'm sure the same effects are available in other versions.

SUPPLIES
A tube.
I'm using the work of Elias Chatzoudis, formerly of MPT.
This artist is currently represented by PTE.

The following filters:
Toadies - Living Sine (Linear)
MuRa's Meister -  Clouds & Copies

Font of choice (I'm using "Champagne & Limousines")

Pick two contrasting colors from your tube.

Open a new image, 600 wide x 250 high.

Floodfill with one of your colors.

Duplicate this layer.

On the bottom layer, Adjust - Add/Remove Noise - Add Noise using Uniform, 15, Monochrome checked.

On the top layer, Toadies - Living Sine (linear) using the default setting (131, 244, 167, 50).

Adjust - Hue & Saturation - Colorize changing both boxes to 0.

Change the setting of the top layer to Overlay.

Duplicate the top layer.

Image - Mirror.

Add a new layer.

Selection Tool - Custom Selection using the following setting:

Floodfill this selection with your other color.
You may have to zoom in to see the selection.

Selections - Select None.

Effects - Distortion Effects - Polar Coordinates using Rectangular to polar, Transparent.

Image - Free Rotate using Left, Free = 90, neither of the boxes checked.

MuRa's Meister - Copies using the Line preset (change the Number from 8 to 55).

Selections - Custom Selection using the following setting:

DELETE.

Selections - Select None.

Crop to 600x250 (very important!)

Effects - Image Effects - Offset using the following setting:

Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow using -2, -2, 58, 3, black.

Add your tube as a new layer.

Add a blurry drop shadow (I used Eye Candy 5: Impact - Perspective Shadow using the Blurry preset.)

Add a 2px Selection border with the same color you used earlier.
(I've added a drop shadow (-2, -2, 58, 3, black and 2, 2, 58, 3, black)).

Add your name and all necessary copyright information.

To animate:

Hide the top Overlay layer.

Edit - Copy Merged.

In AS, Paste as New Animation.

Back in PSP, hide the bottom Overlay layer.

Edit - Copy Merged.

In AS, Paste After Current Frame.

Change the Frame Properties of both frames to 45.

For the avatar:

Duplicate your tag (Shift + D.)

Remove your tube layer.

Crop to 150x150.

Add a new layer.

Add a 2px Selection border, using your dark color.

Add your name (or initial) and all necessary copyright information.

You may animate the avatar, if you wish.

Here is another example, using the work of Elias Chatzoudis:

I understand that some are having a problem finding the Toadies filter...
Here is a layer you can use Smiley

Just right-click and save to your computer and follow the tut as written...
