This tut was written on July 22, 2010.
It is written using PSPX; I'm sure the same effects are available in other versions.

SUPPLIES
A tube.
I'm using the work of Tim Lowery. You need to purchase a license to use this work from MPT (http://www.mypsptubes.com/index.php?p=home).

The following filters:
MuRa's Meister - Copies
Eye Candy 5 Impact - Perspective Shadow

Font of choice (I'm using "Bank Gothic Light").

This animation by Motz Graphics (http://www.motzgraphics.com) (site currently down).
(Note: If this animation doesn't match your tube, you can colorize it to match.)
To save this animation, right click on it and save.

Let's begin!

Open the Motz animation in AS.

Edit - Select All.
Edit - Copy.

In PSP, Edit - Paste As New Image.
Each frame of the Motz animation will be on a separate layer, all named "Frame 1".

Selection Tool - Custom Selection using the following settings:

Crop Toolbar - Snap crop rectangle to Current Selection (it's the third icon from the right on the toolbar).
Click the green checkmark.

Image - Canvas Size to 600x250 centered.

MuRa's Meister - Copies using the Tiling preset but change the Tile Gap from 0 to 1.

Repeat the MuRa's for each of the Frame 1 layers.

Selection Tool - Custom Selection using the following settings:

Crop Toolbar - Snap crop rectangle to Current Selection (it's the third icon from the right on the toolbar).
Click the green checkmark.

Image - Canvas Size to 600x250, all the pixels in the Right box.

On the top layer, Layers - Duplicate.
Image - Mirror
Layers - Merge - Merge Down.

Repeat these three steps for each of the layers.

Save this image as a .pspimage file (PSP7 compatible).

Open it in AS.

Set aside for now, we're going back to PSP.

Open a new image, 600x250.
Floodfill with black.

Edit - Copy.

In AS, Edit - Paste - As New Animation.

We need eight copies of this, so Shift + CTRL + L seven times.

We need to merge the red animation onto the black background.

To do this, follow the steps in my "CURTAINS" tutorial HERE (http://aremgy.smfforfree.com/index.php/topic,53.0.html).

IMPORTANT
If you are going to make an avatar, duplicate this animation now.
(Shift + D)

Now, go back to PSP.

Hide the black background layer.

Add a new layer.

Selection Toolbar - Custom Selection using the following settings:

Floodfill the selection with black.

Selections - Select None.

MuRa's Meister - Copies using the Line preset with the following settings:

Add your tube as a new layer.

Add a drop shadow (I used Eye Candy 5 Impact - Perspective Shadow using the Blurry preset).

Add a 2 pixel Selections border using black.

Add your name and any necessary copyright information.

Edit - Copy Merged.

In AS, Edit - Paste - As New Animation.

Using the same technique as earlier, merge the tube layer with the animation layer.

The tag is done!

For the avatar:

In AS, open the duplicated animation you saved earlier.

Still in AS, click on the Crop tool icon at the top.

Click on the Options box.

Enter the following settings:

Click OK (you will see the crop lines on your animation).

Then click on the Crop box (next to the Options box).

Click in the first frame (so the blue box is surrounding it).

Edit - Copy.

In PSP, Edit - Paste as New Image.

Selection Toolbar - Custom Selection using the following setting.

Floodfill the selection with black.

Selections - Select None.

Add a 2 pixel Selections border using black.

Add your name or initial.

Hide the animation layer and Edit - Copy Merged.

Back in AS, Edit - Paste - as New Animation.

Merge this new image with the animation you cropped earlier.

Done!

Here is another example, using the work of Ismael Rac:

What do you do if you want to try this tut and all you have are PSP versions 7 8 and 9, and don't see where it says
Crop Toolbar - Snap crop rectangle to Current Selection (it's the third icon from the right on the toolbar). That's the problem I have right now. The only option I see is Image / Crop to Selection. Can this be done in versions 7 8 and 9 ?.

What do you do if you want to try the tut but can't right click and save the animation to complete the tut ?
