Paint Engine Tut

This tut was written on June 5, 2010.
It is written using PSPX2; I'm sure the same effects are available in other versions.

SUPPLIES
A tube and an image or a close up.
I'm using the work of Jennifer Janesko, and I bought it when she was selling at CILM which has closed.
Now you need to purchase a license to use this work from CDO.
My Selection found HERE....unzip and place in your PSP Selections Folder.

The following filters:
MuRa's Meister - Copies
FM Tile Tools - Collage Circular
Fantastic Machine - Paint Engine
Xero - Porcelion
Almathera - A Halo
Jasc Animation Shop

Font of choice (I'm using "Cleveland Litho")

Let's begin!

Open a new image, 600x250.

Paste the image as a new layer.

Mura's Meister - Copies - Wallpaper Rotate - standard settings

Crop to 600 X 250

Adjust - Blur - Radial Blur at these settings

F M Tile Tools - Collage Circular at these settings

Fantastic Machines - Paint Engine at these settings (you might wish to save these settings for use at another time)

This completes the background piece - later we will add another filter to this layer.

Paste your image/close up as a new layer and position on either side of your Tag, apply a suitable drop shadow and change the Blend Mode to Soft Light

Paste your Tube as a new layer and position on the other side of your Tag and apply the same drop shadow you did earlier to your image/close up

then apply Xero - Porcelain with all colors set to 0.

Crop your tag to 600 X 250

Go to the Background layer, Effects - Almathera - A Halo - White - setting of 15.

Load my selection: ~Paint Engine Tut Beverly
Choose a color that matches your tube, but yet is a contrast color - I used black.
Open a New Raster Layer behind the tube.
Then fill the lines with your contrast color.

(I have been told that the opacity is lowered once you fill the lines, so check the opacity and put it to what percent you choose.)

Duplicate - twice to make three sets of the lines.
Added Noise - Gaussian - Monochrome checked, 1st set 50, 2nd set 52 and 3rd set at 54.
Take and close the two upper layers of your animated lines.

Activate the top layer, then add your copyright and license number at this time.

Write your name where you desire with the color you desire also.

Now animation time:  Open your Animation Shop by JASC.

Copy Merge your tag then go to Animation shop and paste as a new layer,

Back to PSP, close the first animated layer and open the second.  Copy Merge then back to Animation Shop and paste after current frame.

Back to PSP, close the second animated layer and open the third.  Copy Merge and then back to Animation Shop and paste after current frame.

I always push F-12, and save the animation as a gif.

For the avatar:

Duplicate your tag (Shift + D.)

Crop to 150x150.  Move the Crop to the section of your forum tag - that you would like your avatar to look like.

Add the Almathera - A Halo to this,  Then your copyright and license number to your avatar.

Add your name (or initial.)

Here is another example.
